Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance our hybrid IT environment. This role requires hands-on expertise in Hyper-V, Azure services, secure networking (including VLANs, IPsec tunnels, pfSense), cloud cost management, and alignment with Security Operations Center (SOC) requirements. The ideal candidate brings both operational depth and a security-first mindset, with a drive for automation, scalability, and continuous improvement across cloud and on-prem systems. You’ll be key to ensuring scalable, secure infrastructure that enables business agility and innovation. Key Responsibilities:
You’ll design, deploy, and maintain hybrid infrastructure across Azure and on-prem environments
Administer and optimize Microsoft Hyper-V virtualized environments
Configure and manage secure IPsec VPN tunnels and VLANs for segmented network communication
Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot pfSense firewalls and routing rules
Support deployment and operation of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and integrate with existing security tools
Enforce infrastructure standards through secure CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep
Support secure integration and connectivity of the Snowflake data platform within the infrastructure environment
Monitor and manage Azure cost and usage metrics to ensure resource efficiency and budget alignment
Collaborate with SOC teams to meet audit, logging, and incident response requirements
Participate in disaster recovery planning, backup strategy implementation, and high availability designs
Work cross-functionally with security, DevOps, and application teams to align infrastructure efforts with business goals
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
7+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or network engineering roles
Medical/Healthcare background: 1 year (Required)
Demonstrated hands-on experience with hybrid cloud environments, including Azure IaaS, Hyper-V, and on-prem systems
Strong hands-on experience with Hyper-V, virtual networking, and VM management
Proficient in configuring and managing VLANs, routing, NAT, and IPsec tunnels
Experience with pfSense or equivalent firewall platforms
Exposure to IDS/IPS tools and secure perimeter monitoring
Familiarity with Snowflake data platform integration and connectivity
Working knowledge of secure CI/CD practices and pipeline tooling (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)
Skilled in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Azure CLI for automation and scripting
Strong understanding of cloud cost management tools (e.g., Azure Cost Management)
Familiarity with SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001, or similar compliance/security frameworks
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Network+/Security+, Terraform Associate)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana)
Understanding of Zero Trust networking principles and implementation
Exposure to secure remote access alternatives (Azure Bastion, JIT VM Access)
Experience with BGP/VTI routing or advanced VPN topologies
Experience supporting internal/external security audits and remediation
