Position Title: Data Management Engineer

Location: Within 30 miles of Tulsa

Position Summary:

SmartLight Analytics is on a mission to lower the cost of healthcare by eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse. We are seeking a Data Management Engineer with a strong operations focus who thrives at the intersection of data engineering and operational excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the data pipelines that power our analytics platforms, while closely monitoring daily operations to ensure files, loads, and jobs run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor automated data loads and SQL jobs to ensure successful, timely execution; investigate failures and resolve issues quickly

Validate file continuity, record counts, and historical trends to ensure accuracy and integrity

Proactively detect and address late or missing files using both automated checks and ad-hoc SQL queries

Review “Pending Actions” dashboards and resolve statuses such as Loading, Move, Unknown, Load-Manual, Decrypt-Manual, Load-Error, Review

Document and communicate issues, resolutions, and operational impacts clearly to technical and business teams

Provide actionable insights into data quality, timeliness, and completeness to support client delivery

Partner with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure pipelines meet analytic and reporting needs

Contribute to the advancement of data workflows into Azure Data Factory and Snowflake, helping shape SmartLight’s next-generation data platform

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

3+ years of hands-on experience with T-SQL (stored procedures, functions)

T-SQL optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and accountability for operational reliability

Strong teamwork and communication skills, able to work across technical and business teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience monitoring and troubleshooting automated file-based ETL workflows

Familiarity with healthcare claims data and file formats (e.g., fixed width, csv)

Jira or similar ticketing systems experience

Background in data quality monitoring
